The White Tree is the symbol of the city of Minas Tirith and the symbol of the line of Elendil. Unfortunately, the tree has whithered away and is dead. It resides in the uppermost portion of Minas Tirith. Pippin comments on how the tree is dead. It signifies the nonexistance of a true King of Gondor. This song also highlights the Lighting of the Beacons as the music raises higher with the Gondor theme plays triumphantly for hope and sake for peace for the world of men and the White City
Shore manages to paint the tree in a respectful way, even though it is dead.
