Benjamin Flanker appeared in a Wisconsin courtroom for a probation review hearing after violating conditions set during a February 19th court appearance. Back then, the judge gave him a second chance, ordering absolute sobriety, GED enrolment, SODA treatment, and job verification—instead of jail time.
But things quickly untraveled.
Flanker admitted to using methamphetamine just days after the hearing. He later tested positive for marijuana. He failed to turn in work logs, didn’t follow through with GED requirements, and still owed fines, although he made some partial payments. His DOC agent confirmed the violations and said he was not in compliance.
Flanker tried to explain that his drug use was a “slip-up” and pleaded for more time. The judge wasn’t buying it. Frustrated by repeated failures and broken promises, the court ordered 90 days of conditional jail—on the spot. When Flanker cursed in court, the judge increased the sentence to 100 days.
“I gave you a chance on February 19th. You’re done.”
The hearing ended with Flanker being taken into custody immediately.
