The year 2022 has become the beginning of a new post-pandemic era following the ease of social restriction by the Kenya Government. The Indonesian Embassy in Nairobi under the leadership of H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohamad Hery Saripudin welcomed the new era with a commitment to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and the accredited countries in the eastern African region (Kenya, DRC, Somalia, and Uganda) in all spheres (economic, trade, and investment; social and cultural; and political). A constructive and innovative approach has been pursued to promote mutually beneficial cooperation, as reflected, among others, in the increase in Indonesia-Kenya trade volume by 90% at the end of 2021 compared to the same period in 2019, the time Covid-19 began to spread. The strengthened relations between the two countries have also been reflected by the official inauguration of the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Jakarta on March 17th, 2022. The Indonesian Embassy also continued to spearhead and played a leadership role in advancing Indonesia's multilateral diplomacy through UNEP and UNHabitat.
