Trying to Save:Nasib and Sakina's Support for Soraya and Hojjat's Jealousy in the Shadow of Revenge

Nasibollah and Sakineh, the son and daughter-in-law of Soraya, find themselves in a difficult situation. Soraya, Nasibollah’s mother, is struggling severely with the challenges of life, and her son and daughter-in-law are trying to help her and rescue her from the crisis. Their efforts include providing for her daily needs, offering emotional support, and working to improve the family's financial situation.

However, amidst these efforts, the jealousy of Hojjat, one of Soraya’s other unworthy and malevolent children, gradually becomes a serious issue. Hojjat harbors intense anger and resentment toward Nasibollah because of the breakdown of his previous marriage to a divorced woman. He believes that Nasibollah, indirectly—through changes in circumstances and relationships—played a role in his failure.

As Hojjat observes Nasibollah and Sakineh’s efforts, he feels that their support is consolidating their control over their mother’s life. This sense of jealousy drives him toward vengeful schemes. He decides to take revenge and, at any cost, to put Nasibollah and his family in a difficult position.

Over time, these conflicts create emotional and dramatic tensions in the story, illustrating the impacts of familial and social relationships on individuals' lives. The family's efforts to support one another, while simultaneously grappling with jealousy and revenge, symbolize the human struggle against life's challenges.
