We talk to locals everywhere & it always pays off! Peekaboo aka Red Canyon in Kanab, Utah is what's know as a great 2nd option to Antelope Canyon which is in Page, Arizona. We chose not to try that intense hike simply because all the stories that they can & will cancel on YOU for practically no reason and won't even refund your money.
Locals told us to try it & we are glad we did!
HAVING A 4 WHEEL DRIVE IS MANDARORY, NOT OPTIONAL! We drove a 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor in baja mode & made it just fine. Next week's episode will be my Jeep Renegade trying the drive but failing, so check back next week for that episode.
Peekaboo is a hidden gem not very well know, or wasn't too know. The day we were there, they were installing pit toilets so were assuming there will be an uptick soon.
There weren't too many people the day we visited, nut it was end of June & very hot keeping hikers without 4x4 vehicles from attempting to hike to the trailhead.
If your vehicle is capable, absolutely this is a MUST-SEE!
