(Classic Monster!) Preserved Go Goodwins Plaxton Panorama Elite AEC Reliance: EEU 117J

My first video of 2026.. Starting off strong!

On Boxing Day 2025, Derek Taylor's Presidential Travel put on a heritage bus service once again, Linking the village of Hightown to the town of Formby, To connect with Merseyrail services. This follows on from the sucsess of the first rendition in 2024.

While I did plenty of recordings last year, I only did one this year - This beautiful Plaxton Panorama Elite bodied AEC Reliance - Which was new to Glenton Tours of London in March 1971. It then passed to Coach Cruises in 1980, followed by Daimler Hire of Birmingham in 1982, and then to Mayfield Travel in 1994, Jackson's Of Wigan in 1996, and finally, Regency Tours (Often abriviated to Regency Road) in 1988, Who held onto it right through until around 2013 or so.

Goodwins sold her in 2015 to GT Cambridge, Who quickly sold it onto CL Travel, and finally onto OK Motor Services/Cambridge Classic Coaches through 2016. Derek / Presidential Travel bought her in 2020/2021, and although it briefly passed out of Derek's hands in 2024, it returned to him shortly after. These days, it no longer goes to rallies and events like it did in past years, Instead, it is back earning revenue on Weddings and Private Hires - Not bad at all for a 54 year old coach! From my research, 117 has never featured on YouTube before, so, I'm proud to be the first :)
