A surprise delivery of these Tanatus 28mm Saxon and Pict Mins resulted in this revised opinion.... I try to say something about their strange, appropriate 'style'. Shown pre-painting to concentrate on the sculpts, partially cleaned up of casting excrescences (which are not annoying). Some of the words I forgot to use about them: tenebrous, uncanny, morose, unorthodox, fatalistic, tragic.... could go on.
The Italian sculptors alluded to include Marino Marini and Arturo Martini.
