I first built versions of this design back in the early 90's and it is still an extremely efficient valve design for extreme pneumatic launchers.
Included in the video is screen shots of the simulator results for the launcher showing it's unique valve performance.
Also included is a couple of live shots with the launcher as well as one of the first high speed video captures at 3600 fps used to measured the velocity of the baseball.

Best velocity on this launcher to date is 519 fps with a baseball mass of of 148.8 grams that calculates to an energy of 1372.6 ft pounds of energy from 125 psi
