*BRIGHTENED ARCHIVAL VERSION*: Komet Disc Player at House on the Rock Playing 4/4/2025!

This is my video of the Komet Disc Player at House on the Rock in Spring Green, WI on my visit on 4/4/2025. This is a rare disc music box built in Germany in the 1800s. In this verison, I brightened the video from achieve purposes as this playing is extremely historic in House on the Rock history as it never has been token operated and playable for guests until recently! If anyone has access to a archive database for mechanical music, please submit this video.

This instrument while on display at HOTR appeared as just a non visual display piece for the past 40+ years until JUST THIS SEASON as it was solely wind up and therefore not able to be token operated! Their new repair guy has been fixing stuff and one of the things he did was that over the Winter while the Attraction was closed (January/February 2025) he rigged this music box up by electrifying the hand crank to operate via a newly installed token box! So it electronically winds up the old spring system to make it play. It takes three plays to get through a whole song. The unfortunate part is that the way this instrument was recently electrified is very sketchy in that there is fear that the fragile spring could get damaged from getting overwound or by too many plays. This instrument is expected to be non functional again soon due to the fact. Anyways, it is by far the most beautiful disc music box in which I have ever heard and hearing it makes me emotional as it is just so beautiful plus it is amazing it sounds this great after disuse for 40+ years until tested last late December by their repair guy winding it up manually with it's hand crank!
