In this review, suitably attired, we go for a drive out in the Surrey countryside to test a wonderful 1993 Rover 220 Coupe (also known as an R8 due to the internal design code of the platform or a Tomcat for this specific bodystyle) and see how practical it is, what it is like to drive and what it is like to own. Be prepared for more in-jokes for fans of 1970s British secret agent television series (as usual), references to Peter Serafinowicz's seminal spoof science series Look Around You, terribly hard suspension, worn gear selectors, lots of wood, plenty of push/pull steering, limited rear space, trim rattles, an in depth discussion on 1980s Honda switchgear and more cassette storage action.
