Come spend a slow spring day with us in the beautiful Bulgarian countryside, where dreams of rural living become reality.

After years of imagining life in a quiet village far from the noise of England, we’ve found our home here in Bulgaria—where nature is abundant, life is affordable, and community still matters.

Our day begins with a morning walk alongside our five rescue dogs, through meadows and woods where wild deer, rabbits, and birds of prey are common sights. The countryside here is open, unfenced, and full of life.

Back at home, we spend our time preparing the garden for the season ahead—building new beds, turning soil, and beginning to plant. It’s our first full year on this homestead, and everything is a labor of love.

As the sun sets, Jeff chops firewood for our petchka. Though spring days are warm, the evenings still carry a chill. Meals are simple, hearty, and mostly made from ingredients we’ve grown ourselves.

Most of our neighbors live in harmony with the land—growing their own food, keeping chickens or pigs, and making their own wine and rakia from sun-ripened fruit. It’s a lifestyle rooted in tradition, sustainability, and deep connection to the seasons.
