This guitar solo is from Y&T's "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" from their 1990 album 'Ten.' The guitar player is none other than the fabulous Dave Meniketti who is also the bands lead vocalist.
The solo starts out slow and moody with cool phrasing over a clean chord progression of D minor 7 to C/D. Meniketti builds tension quickly with his aggressive vibrato. There's a super cool tapping idea that is worth learning even if you learn nothing else.
The fast licks at the end wrap things up nicely with a bang. This solo is full of great bending and vibrato ideas. So dig in and go listen to more Y&T!!
