I headed to the coast with Xiwang my Maltese Dog to explore a huge beach and sand dunes and look for a place to camp. I got an adventure I did not expect when we got cut off by the rising tide on a sand bank and had to rescue the dog and wade for safety. The beautiful morning sunshine soon gave way to fearsome storm clouds on the horizon so we quickly looked for a place to set up the tent in the sand dunes. It was a great test for my new Durston X Mid 2 tent on its first outing when we experienced very heavy rain and a hail storm. You never know what will happen when you go exploring, it was a day I will never forget.
