Hi Everyone
Welcome back to my second hike from my recent holiday in Wales.
Today's adventure, takes in two little hidden gems in the south west corner of the Snowdonia National Park. A stones throw from the little tiny hamlet of Llanfihangel-y-pennant is a small little hill, only 60m high. And on top of that hill is a ruined castle from the 1200's. Below is a link to the history of the castle. There is a small car park at the bottom, and a little picnic bench if you want to take some sandwiches. It's something I can very much recommend. The hike to the castle takes about 5-10 mins and is easy for all ages and abilities.

After a little mooch around the ruins of Castell-y-Bere we head of down the road heading for Bird's Rock, or for my Welsh viewers, Craig yr Aderyn. At only 258m high, it's a modest hill, but wow, what views down towards the coast and back to the Cadair Idris range. A little cracker of a hill with massive views. And for any wild campers reading this, loads of great spots in the dip between it's two peaks.
Below is a link to the route in OS maps.

All the best guys
