His résumé includes roles as the Chief of Secretariat of the High Peace Council, a member of the Human Rights Commission, and a senior fellow at the United States Institute of Peace. Domestically, he led the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Communications, the National Directorate of Security, and the negotiation team of the republic in the peace process.
