This video shows the aftermath of about 2 gallons of water and about quarter to maybe half a cup of Dawn dish soap poured onto a fire ant mound to eliminate the colony. prior to filming I made a Permethrin and water mixture of about 2 and 1/2 ounces of 10% Permethrin in 5 gallons of water. I know Permethrin works and I did this to make sure that any stragglers would not survive, but the Dawn dish soap and water was a very effective method to eliminate the ants and the only reason they were survivors I believe is because I needed to cover a larger perimeter.
