In this episode, I explore the southernmost reaches of Vashlovani National Park — a side of Georgia few ever see.
Semi-desert canyons, barren plateaus, and savannahs of dry grass create a landscape that feels more like Cappadocia or Mars than the Georgia from the guidebooks.
In the Samukhi Valley, I spot wild gazelles slowly returning to these lands. I spend the night on the banks of the Alazani River — the natural border with Azerbaijan — where I'm unexpectedly joined by border patrol soldiers who end up helping me set up camp.
This is a journey into Georgia’s wildest corner — quiet, raw, and unforgettable.
The episode ends at the surreal Takhti-Tepha mud volcanoes, rising from the earth like something from another world.
This is the last episode of the Georgia series - an unforgettable adventure through amazing nature, history and time.
