Replacement of the stock Johnson Navigator Grid plate switch & meter. The stock meter was a tinker toy. Suffers from the boing-boing pointer! Pretty much useless. Many hams has swapped this meter out with smooth responding types, normally donated from Rangers. In this example I installed a meter from a 6&2 transmitter. For this update, a new plate shunt resistor needs to be installed. The Grid system requires addition of a shunt. To make the process easy, I used a Ohmite 100 Ohm potentiometer. Now the grid current can be calibrated. You can also install a meter from a Ranger following this procedure. Diagram is in the video.
