Orion was meant to be the centrepiece of Jack Kirby’s Fourth World saga: Darkseid’s own son, destined to rise up and destroy him. But when it came to the DC Animated Universe, Orion’s role was drastically reduced.

Instead of the fiery champion forged in rage, he became a supporting player, overshadowed by Superman.
