This is flight 20 of my Mamba 10 since I bought it at NEAT Fair. I've been taking it out every time since the epoxy cured. I can't get enough of it. I am sitting here are work with 4 batteries for it next to me and the Mamba in the car so I can get a few flights before the sun goes down. Flying RC is addicting enough, but this plane is ridiculous.
I've been flying a little over 7 years and have had and flown many, many planes. I currently have 80 of them of all shapes sizes and types. I did that so I could pick up any RC plane and adjust to it fast. The Ultimate² was my favorite for 3 years and I flew it more than any other plane with over 200 flights on it. It has been so reliable that last time I cleaned it and did maintenance, I put a wood prop and aluminum spinner on it, which made it fly even better. I will never sell that plane...but...
The Mamba 10 out of the box has two major advantages. First it is super light. Second, it has a ton of power. Now, because of the second one it does have short flight times. If I'm going WOT most of the time, I'm coming down at 3:30 minutes with 3.76v in the tank. Not bad, but I've been a battery snob for years and below 3.8 used to make me uncomfortable. I do have a newer charger that when putting a battery in storage will actually charge the battery if it is too low. My previous 3 chargers did not do that. But as long as I get the batteries balanced when I get home, going a little low doesn't seem as bad as it used to.
Since I fell for the Mamba, I've been seriously thinking about selling off 1/2 my collection. I did fly every one of those planes over the summer. But some just don't appeal to me now that I know what style I want to fly. I like them light, floaty, and agile.
