In the Spring of 2025 we took a journey across the United States between Los Angeles and Chicago, following many of the rail routes that cross the country. This programme is the second to document our journey as we head across the Mojave Desert through Arizona.

The programme concentrates on the BNSF Seligman Sub as we travel from the Colorado River to Winslow in the east. Filming begins at the western end of the State at Topock as the rails gleam in the early morning sun. Here we have three trains - an autorack, a stack and a string of baretables - making their way across the semi-arid desert surroundings.
We move east to a famous and popular location that is Kingman Canyon. Here the tracks make their way through picturesque rocky surroundings - intermodals, stacks, autoracks and manifests make up the train types to be seen. After Kingman we continue our journey east following the Route 66 Highway where we reach Valentine close to the southern entrance to Crozier Canyon. Again, we encounter some great scenery and witness three trains making their way through the wild landscape.
Seligman is reached where we have evening and early morning scenes of trains powering up the grades - we finish with a quick detour to catch the daily tourist train arriving at Grand Canyon Village.
Our journey continues as we head through Williams, Flagstaff and Winona where massive stack trains are seen between domestic intermodals and general merchandise traffic. The 12,633 ft Humphreys Peak Volcano dominates our background scenes where we see numerous trains around Winona, before we head east and to spectacular sunset lighting where long trains are seen through the railway town of Winslow.
