Two Small Catadioptric Telescopes side-by-side.
1) Orion Optics 5.5" OMC 140 on Vixen GP Equatorial Mount
2) Celestron C5 on Explore-Scientific Twilight 1 Alt-Az Mount
The magnification is similar on both scopes:
on scope 1 it is x83 (2000/24) using a 24mm TV Panoptic eyepiece
and scope 2 is x89 (1250/14) using a 14mm TV Radians eyepiece
Astronomy test on M57 Ring Nebula
OMC+14mm TV Radians eyepiece (x143) vs C5+8.8mm Explore Scientific eyepiece (x142)
Both scopes just about show the star Gaia 2090 just in front of the ring with averted vision
A tie, except that whichever scope uses the TV Everbrite Dialectric Diagonal wins!
