Filmmaking, for me, is a chance to tell stories. Not all stories come in the form of big box office hits. In fact… most don’t.
Storytelling and sports are a natural fit. Every game, every team, every player is a story that could be told. Sports bring out something special in so many people. From the hard work that players, coaches, and teams put in, to the raw emotion and intensity of wins and losses. There are stories of struggle, of fight, of perseverance, of retribution, of passion and determination, of inspiration.
Filmmaking and sports isn’t just about highlight reels and showcasing the very best of what athletes can do. It’s about capturing those moments in time where something special happened. The High School team that’s making a run at a state title. The player who’s battling back from injury. The coach who put off retirement for one more chance. A moment might be a single lightning-in-a-bottle play, it might be a whole season, or it might be someone’s career. But those moments are there, and the story about them is waiting to be told.
