I was dismayed to find out that Adobe Premiere CC performance is terrible when trying to edit Insta360 5.7k insv files. My computer is plenty fast enough to play and edit these files in Insta360 studio but editing the same files in Adobe Premiere causes tons of dropped frames and very choppy playback that is really difficult to edit with.
You can dramatically improve the performance of Adobe Premiere by editing using proxy files. But if you like to edit with direction lock on, as I do, then the built-in proxy creation tool will not work - it creates proxy files with direction lock off regardless of what you have set in the project window. So in this video I show how to create and attach proxy files with direction lock on.
Also I noticed that when I first started editing Insta360 clips in Premiere (without proxies), Premiere was crashing constantly. It would crash at random about once per hour of editing time. But once I started editing with proxies the crashing problem stopped. It could have been a coincidence but maybe editing with proxy files prevented premiere from crashing.
