This step-by-step tutorial will show you how to merge SRT subtitles with any video permanently using VLC media player.
The steps in this video work for MP4, MKV, AVI, and other video files.
VLC website: https://www.videolan.org/vlc/
Some devices, like, for example, PlayStation 3, or some TV's don't support SRT subtitle files. So if you want to play a video or movie with subtitles, you should hardcode (embed) the SRT subtitle file into the video file.
To permanently add subtitles to a video or movie using VLC, you'll VLC media player, an SRT subtitle file, and a video file. It can be an MP4, MKV, AVI, or another video file.
For this to work, the subtitle file must be in the same folder as the video file and have the same file name as the video file (e.g., Movie.mp4, Movie.srt).
