Dr. Robin Martin Godelie, palliative care physician talks about the need for a hospice and it's programs and services in Haldimand and Norfolk.
The mandate of NHCH is to build a Centre for Hospice Palliative Care to serve Haldimand and Norfolk. Families often have to travel to surrounding city centres such as Hamilton, Niagara and Brantford to access a hospice bed and although there is some overlap with our local hospital there is not enough care.
Dr. Martin Godelie also shares heartwarming stories of when good hospice palliative care has supported individuals to die at home when that was their wish. We are on a mission to bring not only the beds but an out reach team and a full complement of programs and services home to Haldimand and Norfolk.
