Pan-fried mackerel recipe ⬇️
1 mackerel (ask for butterfly cut)
Kosher salt
Cooking oil (I use @getgraza sizzle olive oil)
Frying pan suitable for high heat (Mine is from @ninjakitchen… link in bio)
Recommend to turn on the hood vent and/or windows when cooking for ventilation.
1. Rinse the fish under cold water to get rid of any gunk
2. Pat dry the entire fish. This will help minimize oil splatters when placing the fish on the frying pan.
3. Generously sprinkle salt on both sides
4. Drizzle oil onto a frying pan and turn the stove on high or medium-high. It will take longer to cook on medium heat.
5. Add the fish onto the pan skin side down. Cook for 3-5 minutes.
6. Turn on the hood vent and/or open windows for ventilation
7. Carefully flip the fish over and cook for another 3-4 minutes or until the top is crispy brown. I use tongs and spatula to flip the fish over.
8. Store any leftover cooked fish in the refrigerator
