Fitting a new carburettor to a Baotian Appollo 10. A friend's daughter had bought it to me as a non-runner and it had been sat for about a year!
One of the first things I did was check the spark-plug for a spark. It had a weak spark. The top of the plug was black with soot - indicating that the petrol and air mixture was not correct. I cleaned up the plug which gave it a better spark. I took off the carb and tried to clean that up but it was corroded inside and when I refit it to the scoot - it started but wouldn't idle or rev high - further indicating fuel and air issues.
I told the owner and we agreed I would get it a new carb to try. The new carb worked and now it is running properly.
