Originally aired as S1E5 of Miami Vice on October 26, 1984, the episode titled “Calderone’s Demise” was retitled “The Return of Calderone, Part II” and aired on May 24, 1985, with “The Return of Calderone, Part I” to make a 2-hour TV movie. In the movie version, the scene of the murder of drug kingpin Esteban Calderone was extended to include what has come to be known as the “Dance of Death.”
