Wallabies are small marsupials from the kangaroo family, living in Australia, New Guinea and nearby islands. They are similar to kangaroos, but smaller in size: their height varies from 30 cm to 1 meter, and their weight - from 1 to 20 kg. Wallabies have strong hind legs, a long tail for balance and short forelimbs. They move by jumping, developing high speed. These animals lead a predominantly nocturnal lifestyle, feeding on grass, leaves, roots and bark. They live in various landscapes: from forests and savannas to rocky areas. Wallabies are social animals, living in small groups. Due to hunting and destruction of their natural habitat, some species are endangered.
