President Duterte 2019 State of the Nation Address (SONA 2019): July 22, 2019

#SONA2019 HIGHLIGHTS:

Duterte: I respectfully request Congress to reinstate death penalty for heinous crimes committed in relation to drugs and plunder.

Duterte: Recent uncovering of massive fraud in PhilHealth proves that corruption is pervasive.

Duterte: LTO, SSS, BIR, LRA, and PAGIBIG are the top agencies that need to improve their services.

Duterte to agencies: Simplify your processes; do it electronically like others. 'Pag 'di nagawa, papatayin ko kayo.

Duterte: Malacañang is open 24 hours for complaints that are true.

Duterte: Equipped with political will, we cleaned and rehabilitated Boracay. I am proud to say that it has been restored close to its original, pristine state.

Duterte: We have a long way to go with Manila Bay rehabilitation. We will relocate informal settlers. I hope it can happen during my time.

Duterte: We need to enforce the law. After almost two decades of peace negotiations, the Bangsamoro Organic Law was finally passed and ratified.

Duterte: More Filipino learners are receiving basic education with over 27 million enrollees.

Pangulong Duterte: We also paved the way for the entry of a third telco provider… Do not worry about this. There is no corruption at all. I guarantee you upon the grave of my father.

Duterte: I support the measure to create the National Academy for Sports for high school students.

Duterte: I implore Congress to postpone the May 2020 barangay elections.

Duterte on exclusive economic zone: We will make a stand in due time.

Duterte: In that meeting (in China), I said I want to dig oil because that is ours; Chinese president says there is conflict.

Duterte: There is a time for everything. Do not believe the others because they are not my friends. They are my political enemies.

Duterte: West Philippine Sea is ours.

Duterte: "Trabaho bill" will reenergize businesses and create jobs "hopefully."

Duterte: Pass salary standardization law, "ngayon na"; include higher pay for teachers and nurses.

Duterte: Natural disasters are poverty creators; Hasten the establishment of "Department of Disaster Resilience."

Duterte: We need to hasten bill to improve water resources.

Duterte: Pass the National Land Use Act so we can meet demands of new investors.

Duterte: If all revenues due government are collected in good faith, marami tayong pera to uplift the masses of Filipinos who are suffering.

Duterte to MMDA and all concerned local officials in Metro Manila: Reclaim all public roads that are being used for private ends.

Duterte: We will ensure the implementation of rice tariffication law including provisions that will help farmers.

Duterte: Land Bank should go back to land (development), not commercial transactions.

Duterte on complaints before ICC on EJK: If you can provide me with a comfortable cell, I may go.
