Making a Simple Slab Box

Make a planter box or lidded jar with feet using slabs! This project can be done at home.

You will need the following supplies:
-Clay
-Canvas or newspaper or any thin cloth
-Paper (cardstock is preferred)
-Ruler
-xacto knife (this will be used to cut your paper template but also for cutting clay, if you don’t have one then use scissors for the paper and a sharp paring knife from your kitchen for the clay)
-needle tool if you have one
-pottery rib or old credit/gift card
-wire tool or thin string/wire/dental floss
-texture tools (whatever you can find!)
-sponge
-small paint brush
-cup of water
-rolling pin or bottle
-two even sticks for rolling slabs
-slip (if you don’t have any you can make some by putting small bits of clay in a little dish, adding a little water and mixing until it looks like mud)
