It''s been nearly 40 years since Dragon Ball began its serialized in the Weekly Shounen Jump, and in the decades since Dragon Ball has risen to become far and away THE most popular anime of all time. Despite it's commercial success and enormous legacy, the actual quality of the show is always up for debate amongst the general anime community. With Dragon Balls 40th Anniversary on the horizon, I want to analyze the quality of Dragon Balls storytelling and writing to definitively answer the question: Is Dragon Ball actually a good? Or has its legacy clouded peoples judgment on the truth of its quality?
