DDD - +972 & Local Call

+972 Magazine is an independent, nonprofit online publication founded in 2010 by a collective of Palestinian and Israeli journalists. Its mission is to deliver in-depth reporting, analysis, and commentary from the ground in Israel-Palestine. Over the years, it has become known for its critical, investigative journalism—particularly during the ongoing war on Gaza. Among its most significant contributions is a widely cited exposé on the Israeli military’s use of AI-driven targeting systems, which reportedly enable indiscriminate attacks on civilians. +972 magazine has been honored by the Nieman Fellows at Harvard University for the 2025 Louis M. Lyons Award for Conscience and Integrity in Journalism. Several of the journalists affiliated with +972 are also behind the documentary No Other Land, a powerful account of land seizure and human rights violations, which was awarded the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature Film 2025.

Ghousoon Bisharat is editor in chief of +972 Magazine, as well as a strategic communications and international cooperation expert. She has more than twenty years of experience working with leading international broadcast news outlets and the European Union.

Meron Rapoport is the former Head of News at Israeli newspaper Haaretz. Winner of several international prizes for journalism, he is currently an editor and writer for +972 Magazine and Local Call, and a contributor to international publications such as The Guardian and The Nation.

Francesca Caferri is an award-winning foreign correspondent for La Repubblica. She has been covering the Arab and Muslim world for nearly 20 years, reporting from Israel, Palestine, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and many other countries.
