The miners at Kawah Ijen carry a whopping 80kgs of sulphur rock in bamboo baskets from the crater up the steep rocky path to the rim, then down to the main road 3km away. It's a hard life for little pay, but somehow they are laughing and joking along the way. These miners are some of the most humble people I have ever met.
