Wizz Air exited the Abu Dhabi market after political pressure, mainly from Etihad, as its low fares threatened Gulf carriers and its plans to expand into India and Pakistan posed further risks. Soon after, Wizz Air faced opposition in Israel, where local airlines resisted its plan to set up a Tel Aviv base, fearing lower fares would erode profits.

Meanwhile, Rolls-Royce retired “Hefty Bee,” a Boeing 747 used for two decades as a flying testbed for engines like the Trent 1000 and Pearl 10X. The aircraft also played a key role in sustainable aviation fuel testing before being donated to a museum.
