药剂师黄宏圣以本身的专业知识告诉大家，随着健康意识的提高，社会上普遍出现两种人：不吃药会死或打死不吃药的人。前者跑了多家医院，吃了重复药品，导致用药过量，健康每况愈下却不自知；后者拒绝用药，以保健品代之，却拖延了治疗的黄金时间。无论哪者，对药物副作用的轻视或是恐惧都源自于人们对药品知识的无知。唯有清楚知道为什么吃药、吃了什么药、怎样吃药，才是对自身健康最大的负责任！

Pharmacist Sam Wong explained that the rising health awareness in society created two types of drug consumer: those who are very drug dependent; and those do not trust drugs at all. The former tends to be overly concerned, consumed drugs repetitively or overdose on drugs, causing them health problems without them realizing it. The latter refuses to consume drugs and rather rely on health supplements, thus reducing their treatment window. Both behaviors stemmed from the ignorance and illiteracy of drug knowledge. Pharmacist Sam Wong’s near-death experience from a surgery when he was young sparked his interest in the field of medicine. Besides his job, UKM-graduate Wong is also an avid writer - he has penned about topics covering general medicinal knowledge, and even fictional medical scenes from popular movies and TV series, in an informative and witty manner. Wong’s writings are well-received due to how well he simplified complex concepts; he has gone on to become Malaysia’s first pharmacist-columnist, authored a Chinese medical book, and currently manages his 7,000-follower Facebook page, @huangyaoshi. Wong sought to break the perception of pharmacy being an esoteric field and believes that understanding pharmaceutical knowledge should feel affable and have a human touch.
