I discovered so many cool songs within the 1993 Triple J Hottest 100 double CD which I still have to this day. It did after all mark the year I started playing drums, and when my brain was like a sponge to any type of music that had a rockin groove, guitar riffs, power and speed. And 'Jessie' by Paw was one that struck a chord with me right away. I mean its starts with some bombastic drums - it was bound to get my attention right away. And with some grindy guitars, and serious riffage....heaven! I was listening to some random tunes today; even 'Stay' by Shakespeares Sister came on, then followed by this. I knew I wanted to cover this, it brought back memories of when I used to play along to it in the garage. High energy, and challenging to play in a slightly different set-up than what I'm used to but pretty stoked on how it turned out. It took me a few takes to realise (amongst mistakes, and starting again) that I was clipping signals. I was hitting harder than usual for sure....hah.
Thanks for checkin it out.
