FFXIV Lore: Krile Baldesion's Story

Krile is one of the main characters of Final Fantasy XIV's newest expansion, Dawntrail. However, despite her longstanding presence in the story, I have often felt that she's been sidelined. With Dawntrail only a few short days away, I wanted to compile all of Krile's story arcs up until now, to help understand her character as much as possible.

Keep in mind this video is not intended to be a summary of the story in general, but rather Krile's role within it. There will be plot points that are greatly abridged, dropped, or left out all together. It was my goal to focus on Krile as much as possible, and only included what I could if it contributed to her character or gave context to her actions.

I want to draw attention to the Eureka section specifically. I consider this to be the most important section of Krile's story. It gives a lot of context to her backstory, and as it's not in the MSQ, I thought there might be many people who are unfamiliar with it. I recommend watching this part the most.

Because Eureka doesn't have a new game+ function, I had to use an alt to get footage for it. This is why the Warrior of Light character is different for this specific section of the video.

I also want to mention that the Eureka storyline has branching paths. While the conclusion is the same, there are multiple ways you can get there depending on whose plan you choose to follow. For this video I chose the path that I felt best showcased Krile's character.

Since posting the video, I've realized I used the incorrect crystal to represent the Ascian, Emmerololth. I apologize for the mistake.

The song I use in the introduction of this video is "Home Sweet Home" from the pixel remaster of Final Fantasy 5. Krile and her grandfather, Galuf, are both directly based on characters from this game. It's one of my favorite songs in the franchise, and I really wanted to include it here.
