Take a skateboard, make it longer, add poly-urethane wheels and specialized trucks, add a helmet and gloves with pucks and what do you get? - A 60mph+ method of decending a mountain road as fast as you dare.

Ryan Farmer took up downhill three years ago after discovering the sport. The sensation it gives you, he says, is as close to that of flying without an airplane. An avid a nature enthusiast, Ryan spends his weekends waking up long before the crack of dawn to make the hike from Huntington Beach an hour to the San Gabriel Mountains

Getting there early is key. Due to a legal grey-area and the risks involved skating live roads, it's best to get in as many runs as possible before the road is too heavily trafficked.
