Schloss und Schlosspark Wolfsburg / Wolfsburg Castle/ UHD/4k

Das Schloss Wolfsburg ist Namensgeber und Wahrzeichen der Stadt Wolfsburg.

Es war millionenfach als Logo auf dem VW Käfer bis in die 60er-Jahren hinein. Zu finden auf der Kofferraumhaube, der Gangschaltung und im Lenkrad.

Dieses Schloss wurde als Wasserburg 1302 urkundlich das erste Mal erwähnt und von den Rittern aus dem Geschlecht derer von Bartensleben errichtet. Um 1600 erfolgte der Um- und Ausbau zu einem prächtigen Schloss der Weserrenaissance.

Nachdem 1742, der letzte Graf ohne männlichen Nachkommen verstarb, erbte die Tochter Anna Adelheit Catharina das Schloss. Durch ihre Heirat mit Adolf Friedrich Reichsgraf von der Schulenburg brachte sie das Schloss Wolfsburg nach 450 Jahren in die Familie der Grafen von der Schulenburg ein.

In den 30er Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts wurde Wolfsburg zum Mittelpunkt des ”Großdeutschen Reiches” erklärt und hier sollten das Volkswagenwerk und die Stadt des KdF-Wagens entstehen. Ende 1937 stand endgültig fest, dass die Familie von der Schulenburg das Schloss Wolfsburg und ca. 2000 ha Wald und landwirtschaftliche Fläche, verlassen musste. Die “Ge-zu-Vor” (Gesellschaft zur Vorbereitung des Volkswagenwerkes und der Stadt des KdF-Wagens) beanspruchte den Grund und Boden zum Bau des Volkswagenwerkes und der heutigen Stadt Wolfsburg. Günther Graf von der Schulenburg entschied, im alten Schulenburg’schen Waldbesitz in Neumühle / Kreis Salzwedel ein neues Haus zu bauen und verließ das Schloss im November 1942.

Seit 1961 ist das Schloss im Besitz der Stadt und beherbergt drei Museen.

Wolfsburg Castle is the namesake and symbol of the city of Wolfsburg.

In the 30s of the 20th century Wolfsburg was declared the center of the "Greater German Empire" and the Volkswagen factory and the city of the KdF car were to be built here. At the end of 1937 it was finally clear that the von der Schulenburg family had to leave Wolfsburg Castle and around 2000 hectares of forest and agricultural land. The “Ge-zu-Vor” (society for the preparation of the Volkswagen factory and the city of the KdF-Wagen) claimed the land for the construction of the Volkswagen factory and today's city of Wolfsburg. Günther Graf von der Schulenburg decided to build a new house in the old Schulenburg’s forest property in Neumühle / Salzwedel district and left the castle in November 1942.

The castle has been owned by the city since 1961 and is home to three museums.
