PISLM Caribbean SIDS

The Partnership Initiative for Sustainable Land Management (PISLM) for Caribbean Small Island Developing States (CSIDS) is the inter-governmental mechanism established by the Forum of Ministers of Environment for Latin America and the Caribbean. It was established at 14th Meeting in Panama, pursuant to Forum’s 2003 Decisions 4. PISLM is the principle body assigned by 25th Special Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) [Environment] in April 2008 in Guyana. It coordinates, on the behalf of CSIDS, Land Resources components of Barbados Programme of Action (BPOA), Mauritius Strategy for the Further Implementation of the BPOA (MSI/BPOA) and the SIDS Accelerated Modalities of Action (SAMOA Pathway) in CSIDS. Framework for implementation of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) in CSIDS. Executing projects in 9 CARICOM nations funded by Global Environment Facility (GEF), implemented by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
