International Peace Foundation Network

Since 2003 the International Peace Foundation Network has been facilitating the event series "BRIDGES - Dialogues Towards a Culture of Peace" in Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Laos, Korea, Japan and Taiwan.

72 Nobel Laureates plus former EU Presidents Jose Manuel Barroso and Romano Prodi and artists including Vladimir Ashkenazy, Jackie Chan, Vanessa-Mae, Jessye Norman and Oliver Stone visited as keynote speakers reaching an audience of 300,000 participants in events, all open and free of charge to the public.

Therefore BRIDGES in Asia has not been designed as a one-time event, but as a continuing process of synergies with the Nobel Laureates building long-term bridges in Asia. They have since then returned on a regular basis, starting joint research programs with universities and schools to continuously enhance education in Asia which will, in the long-term, contribute to peace, development and prosperity in the region.
