Cycling in the Scottish Highlands

Welcome to Cycling in the Scottish Highlands!

Here you'll find scenic videos of my cycling adventures in the beautiful Highlands of Scotland, mostly around Aviemore and the Cairngorms National Park. Routes are usually 30–60 km (19–37 miles), ridden at a relaxed pace on good gravel tracks, forest trails, and quiet single-track roads — ideal for gravel biking or leisurely day rides.

Many routes near Aviemore can easily be linked with (parts of) others if you're after longer or more varied rides. Whether you're visiting, on a cycling holiday in Scotland, or local to the area, these routes are great for discovering new trails or riding familiar ones in a fresh way.

Check the video descriptions for more detailed route info, Strava and Komoot GPX links, bike hire, café stops, and cycle-friendly accommodation.

I'm also beginning to explore more of the magnificent Highlands and Islands — so stay tuned!
