The band started in 1993 with the brothers Renato and Eduardo Pimentel knocking down the stigma that instrumental music is elitist or only for musicians and eccentric music lovers. At the historical city Laguna, in Santa Catarina - Brazil, they recorded a demo tape with 5 tracks.
At that time, Brasil Papaya was still a dream in the guitarists heads.The fame of this band, that dared to mix the orthodox and the heavy metal with more popular rhythms such as “chorinho”, Flamenco, jazz and funk always sounded rock´n´roll without seeming ridiculous or arrogant, came out from the “catarinense” underground and caught the attention of other musicians and fans alike.
Brasil Papaya is a band that maintain simplicity and the rock´n´roll feeling without putting aside the virtuosity that has always been yours trademark.
