Equine Service Education
ARQ / ESE on Navajo & Hopi Nations
The intended outcome of this project is to provide basic equine health care to
underserved populations on the Navajo and Hopi Nations while simultaneously
providing education and support to horse owners.
• An additional objective is to provide veterinary students hands on veterinary
clinical experience.
• Our intended outcome is to provide veterinary service to as many equine
patients as possible.
• Provide a zoonotic barrier between horse and horse owner through
vaccination against Rabies and West Nile Virus.
Our ESE Team is made up of volunteers that donate one week of professional equine services. Each professional dedicates their time, energy and expertise. We camp and move to five different locations within the tribal communities. The days are long but so very gratifying. Each horse owner has expressed their appreciation of these services.
