Having Fun Learning To Play The Drums

I'm a 59-year-old father and grandfather who decided to try something new at this point in my life. After listening to me go on one day about how I loved playing in the band back in school, and how I'd always wanted to try the drums, my lovely wife of 30 years bought me an Alesis Nitro Max electronic drum kit for Christmas of 2023. After fooling around trying to play along with songs I'd grown up with, I decided to subscribe to Drumeo.com and learn how to actually play the darned things. This is the ongoing story of my drumming journey; the good, the frustrating, and the really fun parts. To that end, I'm going to be posting practices and performances that are sometimes less than perfect, with the idea being that, hopefully, I'll be able to track the improvements to my playing.
