Fredrik Hildebrand

Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Fredrik Hildebrand started his musical studies with the cello at the age of 16. Two years later he turned his attention to the viol and the practice of ancient music. After some years of private studies he moved to Belgium to study with Philippe Pierlot at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where he received his diploma with distinction.
The year of his graduation, Fredrik was also awarded the prestigious Ingeborg Köberle award, given by the Royal Conservatory to the most promising student of his or her year.
Fredrik Hildebrand has presented himself on stage and recordings with, among others, Phlippe Pierlot, Ricercar Consort, Kaori Uemura, Céline Scheen, Giovanna Pessi, Aapo Häkkinen, Wim Becu, Eric van Nevel, Aline Zylberajch, El Grillo and BachPlus.

In 2015 he founded the group Lux Beata, to focus on the performance of music around the viol in all its forms and musical combinations, with a shared focus on ancient as well as contemporary music.
