For musicians, Easter 2020 was a very strange season, as for the first time in about 200 years there is basically not a single complete performance of Bach's passions put on stage. Instead of feeling sad about not taking part in playing these magnificent works, I decided to make another quarantine session with one of my favorite Bach pieces - his fantastic choral prelude O Mensch, bewein dein Sünde groß (BWV 622), based on a choral melody also used as the closing movement to the first part of his Matthäus-passion.
