Operatic tenor, pianist, and conductor. A native of Iowa, Chris Hoffman earned his Bachelor's degree in Voice from the University of Northern Iowa, and received his Master's degree in Vocal Performance from Stephen F. Austin State University. At the age of 18, he made his Carnegie Hall debut, singing with "A Slice of Jazz," a small vocal ensemble from Washington High School (Cedar Rapids, Iowa). Twenty years later, he brought his church choir (Friends Congregational Church Chancel Choir) to perform Rutter's "Requiem" on that same stage. His operatic/concert credentials have led him to perform in 13 countries in North America and Europe. In a performance of Orff's "Carmina Burana," Mr. Hoffman "possessed a remarkable voice," and a concert performance of Schubert's "Die schöne Müllerin" was also critically acclaimed, with "not one dry eye in the audience." Mr. Hoffman also serves as a solo and collaborative pianist and a conductor in the Brazos Valley (Texas).
